Student Health & Dental Plan
If you are facing unexpected financial distress or have had a significant change to your financial situation, Capilano University has several options available to support you, including bursaries and short-term loans. Contact Financial Aid and Awards to schedule a confidential advising appointment with a Financial Aid Advisor. We will be able to assess your financial situation and provide the best course of action for your situation.
Aboriginal students may also access emergency funding through First Nations Student Services.
Emergency bursaries are non-repayable funding that support eligible students who have a demonstrated sudden and unexpected financial emergency that occurs within a term of study and have exhausted all other sources of income. This funding is not designed to meet educational costs common to all students (such as tuition fees), and is dependent upon the availability of funds. Emergency bursary approvals are case-specific; upon approval, financial assistance is provided as quickly as possible in response to the situation.
Emergency loans are short-term interest-free loans that support eligible students who are experiencing an unexpected delay receiving their approved funding from a recognized government student loan program. This funding is intended to support basic day-to-day needs and may be considered for items of an essential nature related to attendance at Capilano University (e.g. books, supplies, rent, food, etc.). Emergency loans will not be issued for payment of outstanding tuition fees.
