        English for Academic Purposes

        The English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Program facilitates the learning of English language skills with a focus on English for Academic Purposes. You can improve your language skills in preparation for academic studies. The EAP program has small class sizes and is taught by highly qualified and experienced faculty with Master’s Degrees, Ph.D. degrees and EAP teaching certification. EAP classes are offered in September, January and May.

        Capilano University is committed to creating study pathways that will transition you from EAP towards your academic goals. We know you may be eager to begin your academic studies before you really have the necessary language skills to be successful. At Capilano, we want to help you transition towards your goal while also letting you begin academic courses as soon as possible. Combining EAP with academic course work gives you what you want along with additional support to foster your success:

        Pathway Partners

        Capilano has articulated its EAP 080 curriculum with well-established pathway partner schools. If you complete the articulated level at one of the Pathway Partner schools with a grade of 73% or B, you will meet the English requirements for Capilano Pathway Programs.

        Early Entry Programs

        The Tourism Management for International (TMI) Students Diploma Program is a unique, full-time 2-year diploma program that gives access to the Bachelor of Tourism Management degree program offered by Capilano University. Diploma graduates must meet the entrance requirements of the degree.

        Postgraduate Programs

        Capilano University’s School of Business provides students from around the world an opportunity to develop the understanding and decision‐making tools needed to do business in the often diverse and turbulent North American economic environment. These programs are specifically designed to provide international students and new Canadians an opportunity to gain both a North American business credential as well as gain practical hands on work experience working with a Canadian organization.
