The University's rebranding project, 2018-2019 viewbook and program guide and its digital viewbook were all recognized for excellence in "process, performance and purpose."

"We are grateful to CASE for this important recognition," says Irene Chanin, Capilano University's executive director of advancement. "We are proud of our professional communications and how our expertise has been acknowledged. Of particular note, the judges said the rebrand project ‘was a perfect presentation for how to implement a brand.'"

CASE District VIII is geographically the largest of the eight North American CASE Districts, encompassing Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana, as well as British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, the Yukon and Nunavut.

This latest recognition arrives on the heels of four major awards that Capilano University received for its new brand, developed with ION Brand Design, in 2017. The University won the prestigious Coup de Coeur Award for its brand story from the Canadian Association of Communicators in Education in October and two awards from the University & College Designers Association in August 2017. As well, the brand received a powerful affirmation from Eduvation's Ken Steele, the co-founder of Academica Group. He suggested earlier this year that: "Perhaps Capilano University's new brand can serve as an inspirational metaphor for the potential for reconciliation in Canada."
