The Junior All Native Tournament (JANT) is a provincial tournament committed to bringing the First Nation communities and youth of BC together by hosting an event that encourages sportsmanship, leadership and a sense of community pride. Over 80 teams and 800 youth between the ages of 10 and 17 will participate in four divisions, and there is an anticipated 5,000+ spectators in attendance from across the province. The tournament wishes to utilize the game of basketball to inspire, motivate and encourage First Nations youth to achieve goals and make the most of their potential. JANT is also an opportunity to advance and increase the number of BC First Nation youth participation to improve fitness and skill levels. There is no other basketball event that showcases some of the best First Nation athletes at a provincial level while using the game of basketball as a tool to inspire higher education in our First Nation high school athletes.
