Get creative and find appropriate financial strategies to keep your art practice thriving. Grants don't fit every artist. Neither do sales. Conventional methods of art finance, applying for a grant or selling tickets or prints, may be neither appropriate nor fully sufficient for reaching your goals. Explore and analyze concrete strategies that have worked for other artists. You will leave with immediately actionable ideas and strategies to further your artistic career. This course is held at the Café for Contemporary Art.
A professional website is increasingly crucial for artists and performers to have. Traditional résumés, reels, and portfolios are decreasingly effective in generating work, as the industry moves online. This course teaches you how to use the tools available online to build and maintain a compelling website, with continuous support from two expert instructors. You will meet five times over this 10 week course and will create your own website with online guidance from the instructors in between classes. For the price of the course fee, you will have a functional website along with the knowledge and tools to further develop the site and maintain it over time. Students should be prepared to spend approximately $20/month to host their website.
