Campaign for Student Success Raises $80,000 in New Bursary Support

Thanks to overwhelming support from our Cap community the Campaign for Student Success raised $80,000 in immediate, direct support for students across all Cap U programs.

When we launched the campaign, bursaries available through Capilano University were only able to meet an estimated 22% of students’ genuine and verified financial needs, after all other resources were considered. Since the campaign started, our ability to help fund students was challenged even further, as more students requested help to pay for tuition, books, supplies, housing and childcare. For this reason, the campaign gained in urgency as it grew.

Over the course of our eight-week campaign to narrow this gap, Capilano University Foundation sought contributions from our community of staff, retirees, alumni and friends of the University. Thanks to you, and our generous community, we raised $80,000 to directly support Capilano University students with financial need.

On behalf of the University, its faculty, staff and students - THANK YOU for helping us to ensure student success!

        Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards

Cap’s SBA (Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards) Program provides direct support to students based on a number of criteria including academic performance and financial need. Scholarships support students who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance. Bursaries support students who have demonstrated financial need. Awards support students based on their academic merit, athletic achievements, extra-curricular involvement, or special achievements, and may or may not take financial need into consideration.
