In compliance the updated health order announced on November 19, 2020 for British Columbia’s Lower Mainland, Capilano University mask-wearing is mandatory in all indoor public spaces on our campuses. As well, employees and contractors who are working in-person at CapU must conduct, and record for their manager’s approval, a daily health-check self-assessment before commencing work each day that they are on campus. Students on campus are expected to continue to follow the required daily health check procedures.
In other words, whether working or learning on campus, employees and students must continue to maintain appropriate physical distance at all times; wear masks in all common areas and take extra care using small office spaces, break rooms and kitchens. Further, masks must be worn when working or studying within two metres of another person on campus, regardless of whether or not the location is public space or a classroom.
The updated provincial health order is in effect until midnight of December 7, 2020. For the duration of the order, employees are strongly encouraged to work from home where operationally possible and approved by their manager.
