How we assign Registration Time Tickets

We assign tickets in a way that supports student access.

If you’re a new student who needs certain courses to start your program, you’ll get priority.

If you’re entering your final year, you’ll also be given priority to make sure you can take the classes you need to graduate.

The remaining tickets are assigned based on the total number of credits you’ve earned.  You can see how that breaks down in the table below.

Registration Time Ticket ranking and categories

Aboriginal students, athletes identified by the Athletics department, and accessibility students identified by Accessibility Services

 2, 3, 4

New students (≤ 9.99 earned credits) and students with ≥ 84 earned credits

Students with 54 to 83.99 earned credits

Students with 24 to 53.99 earned credits

Students with 10 to 23.99 earned credits

Within the categories we assign registration times based primarily on your GPA, which is based on your student status and one of the following:

  • Capilano Cumulative GPA (CGPA), or
  • other post-secondary GPA, or
  • Grade 12 high school GPA.

Note: If you’re accepted into CapU after the Registration Time Tickets have been issued, you’ll be ranked at the bottom of your category.
