North Vancouver B.C. December 6, 2023 – Capilano University is pleased to announce applications are now open for programs beginning at its new Squamish Campus in September 2024. Fall 2024 will mark CapU’s first term of academic operations in Squamish at the new site.

CapU is offering courses in the following programs in Fall 2024:

The University is also in conversations with Indigenous communities to discuss programming options specific for Indigenous learners.

“We are excited to welcome learners to Capilano University’s new Squamish campus in September,” says Laureen Styles, vice president, academic & provost. “We have assembled a selection of proven, sought-after programming options to meet the needs of a variety of learners in the region and beyond. We’re grateful for the support and interest from the community, and look forward to the continued growth that lies ahead to meet demand.”

Each of the program offerings in Squamish are well-established CapU programs that are currently offered at the university’s campuses in North Vancouver or Sechelt.

CapU arrived at this list of programs following a review of current CapU courses that could be offered in Squamish next year, a recognition of the locally-identified need for ECCE training to fulfill labour market needs in the Sea-to-Sky region, and community conversations about the types of programs groups would like to see offered for local students.

CapU has set a target of welcoming 120 students to study at the Squamish campus in September 2024. Course offerings in Squamish will continue to expand in future years as the academic and campus operations are further established and the student population grows.

The university has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with both the District of Squamish and the Whistler Institute to facilitate local learning opportunities for students through work integrated learning opportunities and additional collaboration.

The university announced its purchase of the 18-acre former Quest University campus in August 2023. The purchase was made possible thanks to $48 million in funding from the Province.
