Greg Quan hits high note with Magee choir

Capilano University awarded six outstanding alumni, employees and partners with 2016 Alumni Awards of Excellence on June 21, 2016.
Greg Quan, Jazz Studies diploma 1995 and bachelor of music 1997, wasrecognized for his contributions to music education with a Distinguished Alumni Award. Quan, Director of choirs and orchestras at Magee Secondary School - well-known for its Magee Chamber Choir - fosters mindful students who are musically knowledgeable and passionate. Quan was recognized at the Heart and Mind Conference at the Dalai Lama Centre in 2015 for his work in mindfulness in education. He was also commissioned to write and perform a piece in 2009 with several choirs to commemorate the opening of the Olympic Oval in Richmond.
