CapU Virtual 5 K Race
Ready to run, together but apart? Join us from your own neighbourhood for the CapU Virtual 5 km Run/Walk on Sunday, May 3, 2020.
How to join?
Using the run-tracking app Strava, students and employees can sign up and join our CapU Virtual 5Km run club. With your Strava account, you can record your 5 km run or walk outside on the roads and trails (or inside on a treadmill), any time throughout the day on May 3. The app will automatically track your route and log your entry when you record your run/walk.
New to running?
No problem! To help guide you, there are beginner running plans on Strava.
Did someone say Fitbit?
For those who participate, we'll be awarding two Fitbit Inspire HRs for:
- the participant who posts the "most scenic photo" of their run; and
- the participant who records the "most creative race route" that day.
After you finish recording your run, the Strava app will give you the option to post photos. Winners will be chosen by athletics & rec staff.
Your health and safety
Please remember to maintain social distancing while participating, and only run or walk where it is safe to do so.
If you chose to participate in the virtual race or the 5 km training group, you do so at your own risk and acknowledge that running carries an inherent risk of physical injury, particularly if you have a history of health problems or previous injuries.
To the extent permitted by law, Capilano University and its affiliates disclaim any and all liability in connection with this virtual race and any instructions and advice provided.
