CapU Squamish offers preview for prospective learners

Squamish, B.C. March 6, 2024 – On March 14, prospective students will get a sneak peek at Capilano University’s plans to open CapU Squamish in September 2024.  

The university is hosting an “Explore CapU Squamish Information Session” for individuals who are interested in studying at the Squamish campus. The event will include presentations from faculty in each of the following programs to be offered at CapU Squamish this fall:  

• Adult Basic Education - General Upgrading
• Associate of Arts Degree (curated select courses, including those focused on the environment and sustainability)
• Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Interdisciplinary Studies 
• Bachelor of Early Childhood Care and Education Degree 
• Early Childhood Care and Education Diploma
• Tourism Management Co-operative Education Diploma

In addition to providing information about Fall term courses, the event will offer opportunities to meet instructors and staff and to ask questions about the distinct learning experience planned for learners at the new campus.

The session is being held off-site while the university prepares the campus for opening later this summer. 

Applications are currently being accepted and the university anticipates 120 students at CapU Squamish for the Fall term. Conversations are underway with Indigenous communities to discuss programming options specific for Indigenous learners.
