News release: Field is set for Women's Soccer Championship at CapU Squamish (PDF)

SQUAMISH B.C. October 30, 2024 – With a week to go before the start of the 2024 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Women’s Soccer National Championship at Capilano University's Squamish campus, the field of eight teams and opening day matchups have been determined.

Day 1 of the competition on Wednesday, Nov. 6, will see the following teams go head-to-head:

MATCH 1 – 10 a.m. kickoff
Nomades de Collège Montmorency vs. Vancouver Island University Mariners

MATCH 2 – 12:30 p.m. kickoff
Brandon University Bobcats vs. Seneca Polytechnic Sting

MATCH 3 – 3 p.m. kickoff
Mount St. Vincent University Mystics vs. Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder

MATCH 4 – 5:30 p.m. kickoff
Capilano University Blues vs. Aigles de Collège Ahuntsic

There will be four games, with the same start times, on Thursday, Nov. 7, with matchups depending on the outcomes of Day 1.

Host side CapU took home a silver medal from the PACWEST provincial championship, dropping a 1-0 decision to Vancouver Island University in the final. Head coach Dennis Kindel is fully aware of the challenge ahead for his squad.

“Our group is excited to have this opportunity and we are going to do our very best to make the most of it when get to Squamish,” said Kindel. “Ahuntsic is the Quebec champion and scored five goals in their provincial final over Montmorency so we will have to be determined in our defensive formation to succeed in our very first game.”

All games will take place at the CapU Squamish campus on the newly installed FIFA-certified turf field. Games will also be broadcast live on a pay-per-view service via the website ccaalive.ca.

This will be a non-ticketed event, free for all spectators to attend. There is limited free parking on Village Drive, adjacent to the CapU Squamish Recreation Complex, as well as free parking in Parking Lot C on University Boulevard.
