BlueShore at CapU 25th Anniversary Gala
A grand celebration of our past, present and future
October 15 & 16 @ 8 p.m.
A two-night celebration of the BlueShore at CapU’s profound legacy of enriching the North Shore’s cultural landscape, our 25th Anniversary Gala presents an extravaganza of favourite performers who’ve inspired appreciative, filled-to-capacity audiences.
The line-up for both evenings features Canadian blues icon Colin James treating audiences to a blast from his past with an appearance backed by CapU ‘Little Big Band’; the North Shore’s own jazz star Dee Daniels performing with the 18-woman Sister Jazz Orchestra; the return of former NiteCap musical director Réjean Marois, leading an all-star ensemble of CapU NiteCap alumni; Mississippi Sheiks Revisited, a journey through the 1920s swing band’s musical gems (“Sitting on Top of the World,” anyone?) with Jim Byrnes, Steve Dawson, Daniel Lapp, the Sojourners, Suzie Ungerleider and Colin James; and finally, the 20-women choir Maddalena’s Descant, conducted by Kevin Zakresky.
