Student Support

Scholarships recognize and inspire academic excellence, encouraging students to reach their potential.

• Scholarships reward exceptional students who have demonstrated academic merit through Grade Point Average (GPA) achieved.

Bursaries help to remove financial barriers to education, enabling vulnerable students to focus on their studies rather than on how to make ends meet.

• Bursaries support students who demonstrate financial need, as evidenced through their budget, tuition costs, and living situation at the start of term.
• Emergency Bursaries support students who experience sudden and unexpected financial emergency during the term and have not been able to access funding through other sources. Emergency funding may help cover necessities such as rent, food, and medical fees to provide short-term relief in an urgent situation.

Awards may provide student support in a variety of ways, recognizing a combination of academic achievement and financial need, or to recognize special accomplishments.

• Special accomplishments may include athletic achievement, demonstrated leadership skills in current field of study, or demonstrated community and campus engagement.

Program Funds provide student support in a variety of ways, providing flexibility for departments to utilize funds to elevate the academic experience and learning environment for CapU Students.

• Program Funds may provide support for student supplies, classroom equipment, research costs, honorariums for speakers, event costs and many other opportunities.
• Program Funds are administered by the relevant program or department for which the fund benefits, and is adjudicated, and recommended by committee and approved thereafter.
