September 27 Capilano University and CFA bargaining update
Capilano University and Capilano Faculty Association (CFA) met in person on Tuesday, September 26.
During this meeting, the University presented responses and proposals on the following topics, among others:
- Expanding community-based projects
- Increasing Private Music Instructors (PMI) hourly rate
- Enhancing the eligibility and compensation for travelling to multiple locations (letter of agreement re: multi-location)
- Improving Benefits and the Health Care Spending Account
- Establishing a one-time Wellness Spending Account (WSA)
The parties also continued discussions concerning the academic year and the scale placement cap on non-regular employees.
Next steps
The next scheduled bargaining date with the CFA is Friday, September 29. As the bargaining process continues, we’ll provide updates, as needed.
