Immigration Advising

Our licensed Immigration Advisors are here to help with questions related to:

• Study Permits;
• Working while studying;
• Co-op Work Permits; and
• Post-Graduation Work Permits.

This service is only available to currently enrolled CapU students who have an active CapU student ID.

As we receive a high volume of inquiries, please be sure to review the International Student Welcome Guide on eLearn for answers to your questions before requesting to speak with an immigration advisor.

There are two ways to connect with an Immigration Advisor: virtually via Zoom/phone or at one of our in-person drop-in sessions.

Drop-in Immigration Advising via Zoom or Phone 

Sessions are available during the below specified hours. 

How to Join the Line

Use the link below to connect with us via Zoom or phone. You must check in during the available hours using your CapU student ID. The registration waitlist opens and closes 15 minutes prior to each session. However, it may close earlier if we cannot accommodate all registered students due to high demand.

Enter your phone number to receive text notifications about the Zoom link and/or your spot in the queue. To receive a call back, please provide a local British Columbia phone number. SMS messages and data rates may apply.

Students without a local British Columbia phone number should join via Zoom.

When you register for the Zoom session, please connect to the room as soon as you receive the link. The link will be sent to your email and text. Upon entering the waiting room, set your Zoom name to your first and last name. You will wait to speak with an advisor, and students will be helped in the order they check in.

Drop-in Immigration Advising in-person

Sessions are available during the below specified hours and the registration waitlist opens and closes at 15 minutes prior to the time at the CIE office, located in the Library Building, room LB127.
