Follow these steps to continue your Adult Basic Education (ABE) courses at CapU.
Most of the questions students have about the ABE program are answered in our Frequently Asked Questions area.
You can now register yourself for ABE classes through the CapU website. To prepare to register online, please view the following:
- 2025 ABE Spring Timetables and make a note of the classes and section numbers you would like;
- How To Register web page;
- CapU Registration Walkthrough video tutorial; and the
- myCapU Account Registration Guide (pdf).
If the registration period has started, you don’t need to “Plan Ahead” to build your class schedule, you may proceed directly to the “Register for Classes” section in your myCapU account.
Log into your myCapU Account.
Prepare:
- Select “Student Services”, then select “Prepare for Registration”.
- Select the term from the dropdown menu and select “Continue”.
- Make sure there is nothing that will prevent you from registering. If you see a financial hold there, you can contact Student Financial Accounts with any questions or concerns.
Register:
- From the Student Services menu in your myCapU Account select “Register for Classes”
- Select the term from the drop-down menu and select “Continue”.
- Search for any courses you would like to register for, view the available sections, choose the section with the days and times that fit your schedule, and then “+ Add” the course.
- Once you have selected all of your desired courses and they are loaded in the Summary section, click ‘Submit’. Successfully registered courses will now show as ‘Registered’.
- Any registration errors need to be resolved before you can continue registering. If you receive are error message, please review the myCapU Account Registration Error Guide on the How to Register webpage.
If you are still having difficulty registering online for ABE, from your CapU email account please email the instructor of the course you are trying to register for, or upgrading@capilanou.ca. Please include a picture of the screen with the error you are getting and any other relevant information.
If you don’t pay your fees on time you may be charged a late fee or even deregistered from your courses.
Canadian citizens and Permanent Residents do not pay tuition fees for ABE courses.
