Welcome to CapU. Start your time off right by attending all of the Orientation programming and becoming part of the CapU community.

Join us at Orientation!

CapU Orientation is a fun set of events and workshops before the start of each term.

At Orientation, you have the opportunity to:

  • Meet CapU staff and faculty who are here to teach, coach and guide you.
  • Learn about academic and student support services available to you.
  • Explore campus life, athletics, student clubs, social events and more.
  • Attend workshops aimed to help you do well in class and adjust as a student.
  • Make friends with other new and returning students.
  • Have fun and make your first CapU memories!

Orientation eLearn module

Completing our Orientation eLearn module will help you build your understanding of the university campus and learn important information about student services.

The module provides you with important information regarding how to get involved, what type of tools and resources are available to you, how to foster wellbeing as a university student and much more. If you haven’t completed the module yet, we encourage you to do so.

Spring 2025 Orientation
Welcome Week – January 6 – 10

Whether you’re looking to make new friends, get involved on campus or just explore what the university has to offer, this week is designed for you.

Date: Monday, January 6, 2025
Time: 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Where: On campus

Join us on the first day of the semester for our Welcome Fair in the Birch Cafeteria on the North Vancouver Campus. This event is a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow new students, collect exclusive student swag and dive into our exciting Welcome Bingo. Discover the many campus services available to support you throughout your journey and learn how to make the most of them. Don't miss this chance to start your semester with fun and valuable connections.

Time: 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Where: Blueshore Theatre

Join us for an interactive session where current students share their personal insights, tips and stories about university life. Learn what to expect, ask questions and hear firsthand about campus resources, study strategies and ways to stay balanced. This is your chance to get an insider's perspective on making the most of your time at university - lunch provided!

Where: Cedar Theatre - CE148

Unlock the Cheat Code to Academic Success. Did you know that mastering CapU's academic standards could save you from accidentally slipping into cheating or plagiarism? Get the inside scoop at our in-person session, The Cheat Code to Not Cheating. We’ll share seven simple tips to help you stay in the clear and keep your grades intact - lunch provided!

Where: CSU Library Lounge (LB195)

Get ready to meet new friends and kick off the semester with a night of fun at our New Student Mixer. Join us for games, delicious food and a campus scavenger hunt where you can win awesome prizes. This is your chance to connect with other new students, explore campus in a fun way and get a head start on making memories. Don’t miss out on the first big event of the year—it’s going to be a blast!

Where: CSU Library Lounge (LB195)

Come and stop by the CSU Library Lounge to chat with a variety of our almost 40 student clubs. There will be lots to do and see, and if you are interested in joining a club or starting one of your own, this is a great place to network with other students and see what's out there.
