CapU Residence is an inclusive community that welcomes students with a wide variety of experiences and needs. We are committed to ensuring that our community meets the needs of all CapU Students.

Students moving into CapU Residence

If you require an accommodation for accessibility purposes, please ensure that you select the "I have a special requirement for accommodation" option when completing your application and provide as much detail as possible to help us meet your needs.

We may ask you to provide documentation to our Accessibility Services department.

North Vancouver residence

Our single occupancy rooms are prioritized for students who indicate an access or medical need for one on their housing application.

Squamish residence

All our rooms are single suites sharing an adjoining bathroom. So no need to worry about sharing your private space with anyone.

Transgender and non-binary students

Students applying to Capilano University are now able to select one of three gender options:

  • Male
  • Female
  • Unknown

If your gender identity does not match what is shown in our student information system, we will work with you in a confidential setting to ensure that you have the opportunity to live in the type of community and room that contributes best to your safety and comfort.

This is most effective when we have the opportunity to speak with you directly about your needs by calling 604 990 7951 or by selecting the "I have a special requirement for accommodation" when applying to residence.

Band/Nation sponsored Indigenous students

Except the $50 application fee, our residence fee schedule can be modified to meet the payment schedule of your band or nation.

Typically, this means that your $500 confirmation payment will be deferred so that it can be included in the payment from your band or nation during the term you are living in CapU housing.

If you have received an offer to live in CapU housing and will be receiving sponsorship from a band or nation, please contact housing@capilanou.ca for further instruction.

If you have questions about the sponsorship process related to housing fees or tuition, please contact Crystal Henderson, Community Engagement Facilitator with Indigenous Student Services at 604 986 1911 ext. 7438 or by emailing indigenous@capilanou.ca.
