New Scholarships, Bursaries, Awards and Program Funds can be created to align with a donor’s specific interests and to recognize deserving students who reflect the donor’s values.

We would be pleased to speak with you and learn about how we can facilitate your support of CapU students.

Creating a Student Award

  1. Visit Student Support to consider the differences between establishing a Scholarship, Bursary, Award or Program Fund.
  2. Consider the gift level you would like to commit:

An Annual Fund can be established with a gift as little as $1,000 per year, with an initial commitment of three years. Funding can be provided on an annual basis, in installments throughout a given year, or in one lump sum.

An Endowment Fund can be created to ensure continued student support in your name in perpetuity. With a minimum contribution of $25,000 towards the establishing principal, interest accumulated will be made available to deserving students who reflect your values for generations to come.

Newly created endowment funds must be held by the Capilano University Foundation for a minimum of one year to allow the principal investment to accumulate enough interest for the first student disbursement. If you would like the award to be given to a student the year you make the initial contribution, an additional gift would be required.
  3. Once we have a full understanding in which areas of support you are most passionate, we will craft a formal Gift Agreement which will direct details such as how the funds are utilized.
