Capilano University celebrated the opening of CapU Lonsdale, the University’s new satellite location on the second floor of The Shipyards building in Lower Lonsdale. Classes start at CapU Lonsdale in January 2020.

“Tonight we celebrate the beginning of the next phase of CapU’s service to the North Shore,” said Capilano University President Paul Dangerfield. He shared how the vision for CapU Lonsdale started many years ago as a big idea – to have a presence for teaching, learning and gathering in the heart of the City of North Vancouver – and that CapU is very pleased to be part of the revitalization of the Lower Lonsdale area.

“With this easy-to-reach location, adjacent to the SeaBus and Lonsdale Quay transit hub, we anticipate seeing students coming off the SeaBus from work downtown, and from points across the North Shore to access opportunities at CapU Lonsdale,” said Dr. Laureen Styles, Capilano University’s vice president, academic & provost.

CapU Lonsdale includes six classrooms that overlook The Shipyards skating rink and waterpark.  This new location will welcome over 1,000 students per term from the Faculties of Business & Professional Studies; Education, Health & Human Development; and Global & Community Studies.
