Since starting as president and vice-chancellor in 2016, Paul has presided over some of the most exciting times in the history of Capilano University.
In his role, Dangerfield is leading Capilano University forward in pursuing its vision and mission as a regional university that promotes student success, career preparation and life readiness for graduates to contribute as responsible citizens in a rapidly changing world.
A bit about Paul
- Before becoming the President at CapU, he was the Vancouver campus dean of the New York Institute of Technology.
- He was the dean of CapU School of Business & Professional Studies from 2006-09.
- Before joining CapU, he was vice president of Education, Research and International at BCIT.
- Starting in 1985, he spent two decades with the Canadian Forces, working in increasingly senior roles, including chief of staff, commanding officer and vice president of human resources.
- He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry degree from Carleton University and a Master of Business Administration (Leadership specialization) from Royal Roads University.
Paul has also served on various boards, including the current board chair of British Columbia Association of Institutions and Universities, board member of Post-Secondary Employers' Association, board member of BC Council for International Education.
Dangerfield is also a volunteer community leader with the United Way of the Lower Mainland Campaign Cabinet, an executive committee member with the Business Council of British Columbia and a board member with Economic Partnership North Vancouver.
