Bio
Cheryl Hurlbut (MBA, University of Guelph, 2005) is extremely passionate about the hospitality and tourism industry. She studied sustainable tourism in the Caribbean while completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Alberta. Hurlbut is driven to protect the environment and ensure that the industry that she has come to love has as little impact as possible on the community and the environment.
Hurlbut was awarded a scholarship from the Women's Leadership Initiative program through Meeting Professionals International for assisting the Environmental Protection Agency in helping "green" the hospitality industry in Washington, DC. She completed her MBA in Tourism and Hospitality at the University of Guelph.
I thoroughly enjoy making people happy and ensuring that their needs are met. This carries over to my teaching style which is always about the student and how we can be growing and nurturing in launching them into their careers. I am always looking for ways to leverage individual assets within a team environment. Everyone has something they can bring to the table sometimes you just have to dig harder to find it.
