Bio
David Amos (MBA, Western University, 1995) is a marketing and management professional with decades of experience in the luxury goods, fashion/apparel and wine/spirits sectors.
After graduating from Ryerson University, Amos worked with the Hudson's Bay Company (HBC) in Toronto in regional and corporate roles. In 12 years of service at HBC, he held 15 executive positions in the areas of merchandising, operations and marketing. During this time, he earned his MBA from the Ivey Business School at Western University. The focus of his studies were general management and business strategy.
In 1997, Amos moved to the United States of America to work for LVMH, the world's premier luxury goods organization. His most senior role was Regional General Manager for Northern California, Selective Distribution based in San Francisco.
Since 2004, Amos has been based in Vancouver, BC working for the Mark Anthony Group, a globally recognized leader in the wine and spirits industry. He has taught marketing and management courses at Humber College, Douglas College, Langara College, Kwantlen Polytechnic University and Capilano University. He has also served as Chairman of the Frontier Duty Free Association, an international trade association focused on USA and Canada trade.
With a background in marketing and retail, I am fascinated and energized by the dynamic environment in these areas of study. I encourage students to focus their education on marketing, particularly in the digital areas and professional sales. I believe students can thrive and prosper in these fields after graduation.
