Bio

Emily Teng (MMT, London, UK, 2006) is an Accredited Music Therapist who teaches Private Music Instruction in the Music Therapy program. Teng has worked with a variety of populations in her Music Therapy practice and brings this experience level to teaching piano.

Teng also works as a music therapist within the Surrey School District with children and adolescence with behavioural challenges and Langley Lodge Care home society with seniors.

I have experienced the power of music through many different stages of my life. It brought me happiness, tears, frustration and fulfillment. All of these experiences has led me to the world of music therapy. Being a teacher and a music therapist, I have witnessed how people are connected, awaken and healed through the power of music. Working with the present moment and reflection between past and present has always been a great interest of mine.

We learn and connect with each other through creative play and I have taken interest in exploring different means of creative therapy such as music, art, dance and play therapy to bring about healing.
