Bio
Mitra Kiamanesh (MASA, University of British Columbia, 1987) is a multilingual mediator, an international business consultant and an educator. She has over 30 years of international consulting experience spanning four continents.
Kiamanesh's experience in project management has given her the opportunity to oversee a wide range of international projects from inception to completion. She has coached team members in negotiation and creative problem-solving to achieve their goals within budget and time constraints, maintaining a focus on objectives and the effective use of available resources.
Her research and development focus are on cultural studies, organizational behaviour, project management, international negotiation and conflict resolution. She has developed and taught undergraduate and master's level courses at Canadian and European universities, and has implemented corporate training programs both locally and globally.
She was formerly the Chair and Director of External Relations for the McRae Institute of International Management, and has served on the boards of the Wideman Education Foundation and the Canadian Council for America.
She is an active member of the Institute of Corporate Directors, the Project Management Institute, the Civil Roster of Mediate B.C., and Quarantine Conflict Resolution Mediators roster. Kiamanesh is also a mentor in the Mentored Mediation Program of Mediate BC.
Currently she also serves on the external advisory board of the Ministry of Public Services and Procurement Canada.
Kiamanesh loves teaching and is the recipient of several awards of excellence in teaching graduate and undergraduate courses.
