Bio
Pegah Yaghmaie (Postdoctoral Fellowship, Simon Fraser University, 2021) completed her Postdoctoral Fellowship (Mitacs Accelerate Program) at Beedie School of Business, Simon Fraser University, in collaboration with Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research BC. Her research focused on examining research's impact on BC health and life sciences ecosystems.
Yaghmaie is a computer engineer with over 15 years of international experience in health care, biotechnology, nano-electronics, fintech, marine, oil and gas, and information technology industries. She obtained her PhD in Business Strategy and Innovation Management through a joint program from Concordia University (Montreal) and the University of Hasselt (Belgium) and her master's in international business.
Yaghmaie is a business instructor in Capilano University's School of Business and an active member of the Research Ethics Board. Over the past years, she has taught at various universities and colleges, developed courses at MBA and BBA levels, conducted projects with universities and industries, supervised students, and engaged with the community. Her research has been published in journals such as Nature Nanotechnology, Business Ecosystem, and Euro-Med Journal of Business.
During her academic and industrial experiences, Yaghmaie travelled and lived in the Middle East, Australia, North America, and Europe, which broadened her vision and enabled her to integrate cross-cultural aspects into her academic career.
