Capilano Festival Chorus
A mix of English choral school, jazz and gospel, there is a little something for everyone
For his first concert with the Capilano Festival Chorus, Maestro Kevin Zakresky has chosen the great cantata Ballad of the Brown King, by African-American composer Margaret Bonds (with words by Langston Hughes). This tender work tells the story of the nativity from the point of view of the third king who visited Bethlehem, who was fabled a brown man. A mix of English choral school, jazz and gospel, there is a little something for everyone. To finish the concert: some holiday favourites.
