Conference of Childhoods and Pedagogies 2025
The Conference of Childhoods and Pedagogies, formerly known as the Northshore ECE (NSEC) Conference, is a yearly event hosted by the Centre for Research and Childhood Studies within the School of Education and Childhood Studies of Capilano University's Faculty of Education, Health, and Human Development.
The 2025 conference theme is: Education toward unforeseen possibilities
This theme invites us to explore education as a dynamic, transformative process that embraces uncertainty and opens trajectories to futures yet to be imagined. It encourages pedagogical conversations about the profound potential of education as an ethical and relational encounter.
By envisioning education as an act of bringing forth possibilities beyond individual capacities, we create opportunities for collective transformation, shared meaning-making, and the co-creation of worldly spaces that are both responsive to and responsible for others.
The conference has a history of 23 years, and it has been continuously inspiring the community of educators and families.
