Summer Semester to be offered by remote learning methods
Capilano University is making adjustments to our standard course delivery models that may need to continue for some time in response to COVID-19.
The 2020 summer semester at Capilano University will proceed according to Academic Schedule and Important Dates 2019-2020, but with some important changes.
For summer semester 2020:
- All courses in Summer Sessions I and II will only be offered through remote methods
- No face-to-face instruction will happen over the summer
- No students are required to attend in-person Summer Session examinations
Given this decision, there may be adjustments required to the courses offered. We recognize that some courses cannot be offered in an adapted remote approach. Any students affected by cancelled, postponed or substantially redesigned courses will be notified directly.
The Province of British Columbia has declared public post-secondary institutions are an essential service. We appreciate the clarity of this decision. As always, we will maintain our approach of respecting and responding to the latest advice and instructions from governments and health authorities concerning health and safety. The situation, we know, continues to evolve and may require further changes and adaptations.
Further details will be provided to the Capilano University community in as timely a way as possible.
Please see COVID-19 and Capilano University's response for more updates and information.
