CapU message of pride
Amidst the hope and excitement of the September back-to-school season, this month also saw events and online messages in Canada that were directed at the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
At Capilano University, we value and celebrate the diversity of all people in our university community. We know we are made stronger by the uniqueness each person brings to build and grow a more vibrant and inclusive culture at CapU.
We want to take this time to reaffirm the university’s values of diversity, the individuality of learners, open engagement with ideas, respectful engagement with each other, personal accountability of integrity and success, and transparency and an ethic of fairness. CapU is committed to providing a respectful learning and working environment that allows for full and free participation of all members of the University community where everyone is included and everyone is welcome.
October 3 marks the one year anniversary since the opening of CapU’s pride crosswalk, a visual representation of welcoming acceptance to all who enter our campus. As we move into October and onward in this academic year, please come as you are and know that each of you are welcome and valued at CapU.
