After graduating from Goldsmiths, London in 2011, Ogden worked for nearly a decade in the UK industry, primarily as a director, editor and edit producer in the world of commercials and brand content.
The production company that he founded created programming for broadcasters such as the BBC, National Geographic, Red Bull and the NFL. He continues to develop and produce content for the likes of CBC and the Knowledge Network.
Shortly after moving to Canada in 2019, Ogden began working as an assistant editor in scripted features and TV, Indie docs and shorts. He is an active member of both IATSE 891 and ACFC West unions.
Ogden began teaching at Capilano University in 2020 and continues to work in the industry when not teaching.
My approach to teaching is rooted in mastery of the technical, as a basis for more creative, experimental editing. I have extensive experience crafting compelling narratives in the edit and love to share my insight with students to help them tell their own stories.
I'm focused on decolonizing my own teaching practice and helping to usher in the next generation of more compassionate, critical and diverse film professionals.
