Program Highlights

Graduates of the two-year Business Administration diploma program have the skills and knowledge required to be effective managers in a demanding and changing workplace.

This focused diploma program provides an excellent background if you're interested in pursuing a bachelor's degree or additional education. The diploma also provides a jump-start for your future career across the business sector and the skills you gain in your courses will make you invaluable to employers.

The first year of the program provides a solid foundation in general business knowledge with courses in accounting/finance, communications, marketing, computing and organizational behaviour.

The second year offers the opportunity to concentrate (or focus) in a particular area of specialization.

  • Demonstrate ethical, professional, and productive leadership and participation, in teams and individually, in practice-based and / or work integrated learning (WIL) activities.
  • Apply analytical thinking, research methodologies, financial analysis and reflective approaches to identify and analyze business problems.
  • Leverage innovative technologies and techniques to enhance decision-making, collaboration and communication.
  • Apply intercultural knowledge to analyze global, Indigenous and other cultural factors affecting businesses.
  • Produce effective business documents and deliver effective oral business presentations using a variety of appropriate technologies.

Admission Requirements

English language requirements

English is the language of instruction at CapU. All applicants are required to demonstrate competence in the English language prior to admission.

If English is not your first language or you’ve received your education in a language other than English, you must meet our English Language Requirements.

Program Notes

Students planning to complete the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) or another baccalaureate program should take ENGL 100. Students cannot receive credit for BFIN 141 or BFIN 142 and also get credit for BFIN 193 towards this credential and are restricted to credit for only one of BFIN 244 or BFIN 341. Students planning to continue on to the BBA-Accounting Concentration should take either BFIN 141 & 142 or BFIN 193 in First Year and must take BFIN 341.
