This course tells the story of Skwxwú7meshulh UxwumÃxw (the Squamish people) and their relation with the living world from a Skwxwú7mesh perspective. This story is represented in the oral tradition, passed down in oral texts from past generations of speakers. The knowledge was transmitted in the Squamish Language and we will explore what language can tell us about the Squamish people and their relationship with the living world.
