A survey of fundamental topics in discrete mathematics including: mathematical proofs using direct arguments, indirect arguments, and induction; the algebra of sets; combinatorics; functions and relations; and graph theory. This course stresses the special role of discrete mathematics in Computing Science.
Prerequisites
One of the following: Math Placement Test (MPT), or Precalculus 12 (B), or MATH 108 (C-), or MATH 116 (C-), or MATH 105 (C-), or BMTH 054 (C+)
Course Notes
MATH 124 is an approved Science and Technology course for Cap Core requirements. MATH 124 is an approved Numeracy course for Cap Core requirements. MATH 124 is an approved Quantitative/Analytical course for baccalaureate degrees. MATH 124 is an approved Science course.
