This course in Literary Publishing will focus on the creation and production of a print and online publication, from concept to design to publication to launch. This studio-style class will provide opportunities for students to fill multiple roles in literary publishing - in publicity, acquisitions, editorial and event planning. Assignments will reflect the multiple roles on a production team, including marketing, design, writing and editing. The year will culminate in a public reading and launch event for the print edition of the publication.
Prerequisites
45 credits of 100 or 200-level coursework including ENGL 190, ENGL 191, and one of ENGL 290, 291, 293, 296 or 297
