This course helps students understand sports management and recreation law and provides guidance on navigating the legal frameworks relevant to outdoor and sports industries. Students explore liability, contracts, environmental and property regulations, ethical considerations, and intellectual property and marketing within the sport and recreation setting. Through interactive lectures, case studies, and scenario-based discussions, students gain comprehensive knowledge of risk management, compliance strategies, ethical considerations and environmental stewardship related to outdoor recreation and sports adventures.
Prerequisites
LAW 101, LAW 110 and LAW 210; OR 45 credits of 100-level or higher coursework
